For this painting, I wanted to represent a dramatic kiss as old movies billboard posters used to. The woman is very present as she is staring at the beholder, while the man is suggested by his hand holding her face and his closed eyes.
I also added my trademark baby chicken, which is a recurring image in my paintings. It symbolizes inspiration and creation like a chick that just broke out of its egg. This led me to call this piece Mon Poussin (Baby Chicken), a term of endearment in French. I painted a matching dress for the French Weeks’ fashion show as well.
